I’m Oscar Smit, a mixed-bag creative working and living in Pōneke, Aotearoa. Originally from toilet-stop-small-town Ngatea, in rural Waikato, I moved to gain a Bachelor of Screen Arts at Toi Rauwhārangi, Massey University. I worked as a PA on major productions like Avatar, realised it wasn’t my cup of tea, and have since discovered my new passion: publishing.
Completing a Graduate Diploma in Publishing at Whitireia and WelTec, I’ve developed skills in copyediting, design, project management, publicity, and marketing. Confident in producing film and publishing projects, I’m eager to marry these two worlds by taking on freelance work of all shapes and sizes.
